About

Badass Valkyrie

Bio: 15 years ago I was a 450-pound gamer. Today I am a full contact Medieval Combat martial artist and extreme athlete. I have been fighting for over 6 years and in the past year transitioned into becoming a triathlete and retiring from being a full-time competitive fighter. I still fight, run, and enjoy every adrenaline-induced Adventure I can find! This is my little space on the web where I am keeping track of my adventures. It has been a wild ride so far and it just keeps getting better. This past few years I have found a new love of journaling, planning and all things analog. I love stationary and ephemera and I have incorporated that love of paper into my YouTube channel, where I do notebook and planner reviews as well as vLogging about my BadAss Valkyrie Adventures. People often ask me why I push myself so hard. Especially after I had gastric bypass surgery and lost over half my body weight. I came to the realization that I just don't have what it takes to sit back and be 'average'. I will never 'settle' for something less. So here I am, 15 years post-op, I just turned 55 & had my right hip replaced but there's no signs of me slowing down, just changing the game! I'm built for strength & endurance, not mediocrity. My life runs on caffeine and chaos, so buckle up, its gonna be a wild ride! - Amy Graham The Badass Valkyrie

  1. Hi Amy. This is Smita, a subscriber from your YouTube channel. If you remember, I wanted to join you on your next triathlon Women of Steel.

I didn’t know how else to reach you. Believe it or not, I don’t know how to send a private message on instagram that I downloaded to get in touch with you. So here I am.

Just wanted you to know that my health has taken a turn for the worse over the last 2 months with some serious issues I need to face. I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be allowed to do a triathlon for now. I will cheer you on though. Hopefully, I will get the opportunity to run with you in the future, once I’ve recovered.

    Toodles,
    Smita.

  2. Amy, been watching you for years as part of the health challenge this week I’m looking into sleep trackers what are the pros and cons in your experience of your oura ring

    1. Meghan, I have had absolutely wonderful insight using the Oura ring. It helped me determine when I was waking up and we realized my husband was kissing me goodnight when he came to bed around 3:30am just out of habit. We stopped that, I sleep with a mask to keep out light and I also wear my braces for my hands. We did a lot of adjusting because of the data I got from the ring. For me the cost was worth it. I use it every day and would buy it again.
